Tuesday: New Mexico Ice Wolves 6 @ El Paso Rhinos 2 – Ice Wolves are in town today for some weekday hockey here in Rhino Country! Puck dropped promptly at 7:00 PM here in Rhino country and we get right in to the action with Britton Oldham taking the early lead for us. Tanner Ross tied it up for the Ice Wolves at 1-1 deep in the period off of a power play and we’d head in to the second period with no further changes in score.
Ice Wolves take a couple more this period with Calahan Butler starting them off, followed by Tanner Ross just a few minutes later off of a shorthanded man disadvantage. Butler takes one more deep in the period off of another power play to put the score at 4-1, Ice Wolves leading. Headed in to the third period the Ice Wolves’ Butler earns himself a hattrick and putting New Mexico up 5-1 early in the third. Carter Lehmann manages to sneak one past Ice Wolves defense, but unfortunately this would be our last goal of the night as Oscar Schneider puts the final pin in the game with one more goal. Ice Wolves walk away from Game 1 with a 6-2 victory over the Rhinos.
