Oct 22, 2024

Friday: Texas RoadRunners 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 1 – Rhinos & RoadRunners square off once again this season for the first of a three-game series in the Sun City! Dylan Newton holds back the RoadRunners in the first period with a strong defense, but Hunter Houle does the same and we’ll head into the second at 0-0. Our very own Kacper Gach earns the first goal of the day for the Rhinos at the 4:20 mark, giving us the early lead until just past twelve minutes where Noble Cook ties it up for the RoadRunners. With one final goal in the second from Cook, RoadRunners snatch the first game with a 2-1 victory.

Saturday: Texas RoadRunners 1 @El Paso Rhinos 4 – Back to the ice for Game #2 Rhinos bring their A-Game. Grant Norkiewicz & Liam McCall make it double trouble with two goals in the first period, securing a 2-0 lead before the first period is out. The second period is more of the first as Jake Bamback and Ezekial Molina gives us two more for a 4-0 lead. RoadRunners take one last chance to prevent a blowout as Kyle Macintosh secures the last goal of the game, but Rhinos walk away from Game #2 with a 4-1 win.

Sunday: Texas RoadRunners 3 @ El Paso Rhinos 4 – With the series on the line both teams return to the rink for one last battle The first period saw the Rhinos take the early lead as Liam McCall and Jake Bamback steal two goals, but the RoadRunners respond in kind with Kyle Mackintosh and Skylar Bawcom to tie up the game at 2-2 at the end of the first. The action ramped up in the second period but neither team was able to break through the other’s defense. After one more intermission we’d see the game move to yet another tie, this time at 3-3 as Bawcom and McCall take one goal each for their respective teams, sending us into over time. Ultimately it would be Derrick Pendersen who scored the Rhinos’ final, game-winning goal to take the series 4-3 in Game #3.
