Saturday: El Paso 16 @ Austin 0: Matthew Gross had an outstanding five goals in El Paso’s victory over the Ice Bats. Matthew Barnes scored twice and recorded five points in the win. Zachary Ware buried a hat trick. Caden Butler also tallied a goal and seven assists. Twelve skaters combined for a total of 47 points. In the blue paint, Camden Pendleton had a quiet 13 save shutout. On the other end, Sebastian Skarzenski kept out 74 of 90 shots faced for Austin.
El Paso 12 @ Austin 1: The Rhinos continued their weekend dominance over Austin, scoring twelve goals while holding the Ice Bats to a single goal. Thirteen skaters found the points sheet for El Paso, Caden Butler burying a hat trick while Noah Easterson potted a pair of goals and dished three assists. Matthew Gross also had four assists in the victory. Dustin Smith scored the lone Austin goal to break the shutout. Camden Pendleton made 22 saves in the win while Sebastian Skarzenski stopped 71 of 83.
