Olson to Play for Midland University

May 2, 2022

Congratulations to Jack Olson who will continue his hockey career at Midland University!

A defenseman from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Jack Olson tallied 24 points in 43 games in his only season with the Rhinos.

“Because of his commitment to teamwork, Jack brought leadership and stability to the team. He worked hard, led by example, and had a passion for the game. Not only did his own hockey skills improve drastically this season, Jack was the reason the younger defensemen also grew as hockey players throughout the season. He was a huge asset to the Rhinos’ defensive unit, a role model for his teammates and, in the future, his impact will go far beyond any hockey rink,” head Coach Nick Mammel said.

Located in Fremont, Nebraska, Midland’s hockey team is an ACHA – DI program. Olson will play under Interim Head Coach and former Rhino, Jan Dam. Midland University is also the alma mater of Blake Ortman, the El Paso Rhinos NAHL Assistant Coach.

Best wishes to Jack as he plays for the Warriors next season!
