Rhinos Split with Capitals

Friday: El Paso Rhinos 2 @ Atlanta Capitals 4 – For the second time this season the El Paso Rhinos & Atlanta Capitals square off in the rink. The puck dropped and we went straight into the action as both teams chased the puck up and down the ice. It would be the Capitals who would take the first goal of the night as Brett Philips takes a shot on goal for a score. Ben Parker snuck in one more goal for the Capitals in the last minute of the game to end the period with a 2-0 lead. Headed into the second period Trey Erramouspe puts the Rhinos on the board after a scoreless period. The Capitals’ Nick Refine & Nick Jameus scored two more goals to round out the period to set the score at 4-1 with Rhinos trailing behind. Landon Cain would take one final goal for the Rhinos to end off the night. Atlanta Capitals took the first win of the night 4-2 over the Rhinos.

Saturday: El Paso Rhinos 4 @ Atlanta Capitals 2 – Rhinos & Capitals come back to the ice for the second game of the series. Mike Sobaski starts off the Rhinos by taking a goal at 12:51 into the period to take the lead. Capitals would come back to tie the game before the period is out with Anthony O’Neal just a few minutes later. The second period wouldn’t be all too much more exciting, seeing only one goal from the Rhinos’ Payne Pent to take a 2-1 lead going into the third. Rhinos members would go on to score two more goals this period thanks to James Mallette and Liam Sbrocca. Sunday: El Paso Rhinos 3 @ Atlanta Capitals 6 – Game 3 is afoot as both teams aim to come out on top of the series. The early game goes to the Capitals as Joe McLaughlin and Robbie Aranos take a 2-0 lead in the first period. The Capitals would go on to increase their lead by 3 more points in the second period with Anthony O’Neal, Austin Micale, and Nick Jameus all taking goals. At the 10:08 mark, Cain puts the Rhinos on the board with a goal and again for a second goal later in the period. The score was set at 5-2 going into the third period as the Rhinos try to make a comeback. Robbie Aranos rounded out the Capital’s score at 6 with one final goal for the team. Landon Albrecht puts the closing remarks on the game by cutting the Capital’s lead in half by scoring the last goal of the game for the Rhinos. Atlanta takes Game 3 with a
