Rhinos take Ice Wolves 2-0 in Game 2

Friday: New Mexico Ice Wolves 5 @ El Paso Rhinos 2 – The El Paso Rhinos and New Mexico Ice Wolves squared off tonight for the first game of the season. The game started out with a relatively slow pace with neither team scoring in the first period. Carson Doyle would break the silence with the first goal of the night early in the second. Ice Wolves would respond in kind with three goals of their own. Jo Kawagishi puts the Ice Wolves on the board followed by Jaden Stiller and Breaden Whitesell. The Rhinos’ Payne Pent would close the period with one more goal to set the score at 3-2, Ice wolves leading, going into the third. The final leg of the game would see the Ice Wolves take two more goals as Fletcher Burnett and Bode Ensign both sink pucks into the net. The first game of the series sees an Ice Wolves’ victory, defeating the El Paso Rhinos 5-2.

Saturday: New Mexico Ice Wolves – @ El Paso Rhinos 2 –  New Mexico Ice Wolves and El Paso Rhinos face off once more tonight for the second game of their season opener series. Rhinos come back tonight after last night’s loss with determination to even out the series. Mike Sobaski would put the Rhinos on the board first this game with a goal at the 8:43 mark. Not too long after this score a fight would break out between both teams with multiple fighting penalties and ejections for each. Going into the second period Payne Pent would increase the Rhinos’ lead 2-0 over the Ice Wolves with the last goal of the game. The El Paso Rhinos would come out on top of this game, tying the Ice Wolves for wins in the series.
