Jan 27, 2026

Friday: El Paso Rhinos 1 @ New Mexico Ice Wolves 4 – We’re back in Albuquerque this weekend for a late season series against the New Mexico Ice Wolves! New Mexico is first on the board five minutes in to the first period as Bryson Quimby breaks past Rhino defense. Our very own Parker Brinner ties it back up in the closing minutes of the first and the buzzer would sound with the board reading 1-1.

Early in the second period the Ice Wolves’ Calahan Butler takes back the lead and begins the first of New Mexico’s many attacks on the Rhinos. Grant Sexton makes it 3-1 in the Ice Wolves’ favor off a shorthanded goal with 14:47 left in the period not too far after. Hunzeker Piersimoni rounds out the Wolves’ lead at 4-1 over the Rhinos with one more goal, and with no more scoring in regulation time New Mexico takes Game #1.

Ice Wolves lead tonight with 28 shots on goal over Rhinos’ 25 with goaltenders Nathan Graybill going 16 saves for 17, and Brayden Macko going 8 for 11 after substituting in halfway through the game.

Saturday: El Paso Rhinos 2 @ New Mexico Ice Wolves 1 – Back on the ice after last night’s defeat the Rhinos aim to take revenge on the Ice Wolves here on New Mexico ice! Mikhail Levaniuk is first out of the gate tonight, taking a point just over two minutes in to the period for an early game lead! Graybill holds back the Ice Wolves prods and keeps the us up 1-0 by first intermission.

Graybill continues to hold steady in the second period and prevents any scoring until the last five minutes where the Ice Wolves’ Jacob Wenner ties it up at 1-1. Fortunately for the Rhinos we’ve got Kenneth Cadwallader who takes back the lead just a couple minutes later, and with no more scoring for the remainder of the game Rhinos would take Game #2 with a 2-1 win!
