The Rhinos fell to the Texas RoadRunners, 5-2, in their first of four straight games.
The Rhinos were the first on the board when Cole Schneider scored at 1:38 in the first period. The RoadRunners, however, posted four unanswered goals before Rhino defenseman Gino Sessa’s high glove-side goal cut the lead to two with 8:39 left in the third period. At 13:07, RoadRunner Derek Boutin’s hat trick goal gave the College Station the game’s last point for a final score 5-2.
The puck drops for game two in College Station at 5:15 pm (MT) on Saturday.
