The NA3HL Rhinos are please to announce Alec Sherman as Head Coach.
Alec Sherman, a native of Lansing, Michigan, has been a dedicated coach for the El Paso Rhinos for the past two seasons. Sherman served as the NA3HL Head Coach in 2023-2024 and as the NAHL Assistant Coach in 2024-2025. Prior to his coaching tenure with the Rhinos, he was a NAHL Chicago Area Scout from 2019 to 2023.

Coach Sherman’s history with the Rhinos dates back to his playing days, where he spent two seasons as Captain with the team in the WSHL from 2006 to 2008, winning a Thorne Cup Championship in 2008. He then continued his hockey career at Adrian College and Central Michigan University.
Before returning to El Paso, Coach Sherman coached for over five seasons with the Orland Park Vikings. He also held the position of Hockey Director at Canlan Sports in Romeoville, Illinois, where he oversaw approximately 300 youth players and volunteer coaches.
Coach Sherman is enthusiastic about his return to the NA3HL, where he looks forward to continuing to strengthen the NA3HL to NAHL pipeline in El Paso.
Coach Sherman resides in El Paso with his wife Lauren, two daughters Eleanor and Josephine, and his two dogs, Duck and Goose. Welcome back, Coach!
