Rhinos sweep Capitals 5-1 in Game 3

Friday: Atlanta Capitals 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 8 – Capitals pay a visit to Rhino country this week for another exciting weekend of NA3HL hockey! Atlanta takes the initiative tonight as Anthony O’Neal puts them on the board. The Rhinos take the next few minutes to size up their opponents and Nick Jones capitalizes on an open goal to tie the game up at 1-1 at just under twelve minutes. Capitals strike back with another goal of their own but Nick jones won’t let them keep their lead, tying up the game once more at 2-2 before the period is out. With the curtain rising on the second period the stage is now set for the Rhinos to push their advantage, and push they do. Joseph Gutierrez, Nick Jones, and Garret Reagan take 3 more goals this period, sending the Rhinos square into the lead at 5-2 lead. El Paso would go on to score three more goals in the third period to end the game at a whopping 8-2 victory over the Capitals.

Saturday: Atlanta Capitals 0 @ El Paso Rhinos 4 – Game #2 is afoot as Rhinos & Caps hit the ice for the second time this weekend to fight it out here in Rhino Country. Joseph May starts us off tonight taking the only goal of the first period. Goaltender Ryen Piekarski holds the Capitals at bay and we’re sent into the second with a 1-0 lead for El Paso. Rhinos are at it once more tonight in the second period with Nick Jones showing his prowess once more in the early period. Donovan Bradford & Jake Sherry take back to back goals at just past the 17 minute mark to put the Rhinos ahead 4-0 at the end of the second. With no more scoring in the third, Rhinos earn themselves a shutout 4-0 victory for Game #2. 

Sunday: Atlanta Capitals 1 @ El Paso Rhinos 5 – Game #3 is set and ready to go with the Rhinos aiming for a sweep over the Capitals. Joseph May takes the first goal of the night for the Rhinos, which wouldn’t be answered until late in the period where the Capitals’ Anthony O’Neal ties up the game at 1-1. For a third time this series the Rhinos kick it into high gear in the second period, taking 3 goals courtesy of Zach Ware, Rocco Romita, and Nick jones. Rhinos are up 4-1 headed into the third period where Regnars Jasons puts the period on the series and giving the Rhinos a final score of 5-1 over the Capitals for Game #3.
