Friday: New Mexico Ice Wolves 3 @ El Paso Rhinos 2 – Rhino country welcomes the New Mexico Ice Wolves this week as we start the first of a two-game series! Ice Wolves take the initiative tonight with the first goal of the night deep in the first period as Jack Arnold scores with just over five minutes on the clock. Ice Wolves would continue into the second period with two more goals scored by Trey Erramouspe and Fletcher Burnett. Unfortunately for the Rhinos, New Mexico’s defense would continue to hold throughout the third period and Ice Wolves take the first game 3-0.
Saturday: New Mexico Ice Wolves 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 1 – Back on the ice for Game #2 the Rhinos & Ice Wolves fight it out! Phillip O’Neil holds back the Ice Wolves in the first period, but unfortunately we’d see no scoring by either team this period. Nick Jones starts us of this period with the first goal of the game at just past four minutes. Rhinos would hold the 1-0 lead for the next tew minutes until Trey Erramouspe takes one for the Ice Wolves to tie up the game at just under ten minutes. As we move into the third period both teams vie for dominance knowing the next goal may be the last. With just over five minutes to go in the period Ice Wolves would break the tie with a goal from Brady Nance to take the game with a 2-1 victory.
