Rhinos Sweep Jr. Stars 7-0 in Game 2

Friday: Mid Cities Jr. Stars 1 @ El Paso Rhinos 10 – Rhinos host the Mid Cities Jr Stars this weekend for the start of an exciting series! The first period is all Rhinos as Trevor Stenglein puts us on the board. Rhinos head into the second period with a 1-0 lead which is quickly added unto as Kowalchuk scores and Joseph Gutierrez takes two of his own before the Jr. Stars respond with one of their own. With time counting down the Rhinos lead 4-1 until the 12:25 mark where Stenglein and Kowalchuk sink the puck twice more for a 6-1 lead headed into the third. Zach Ware and Kowalchuk score back to back, with Kowalchuk taking a hat trick just before Stenglein snags another for a hat trick of his own. With one final goal from Tyler Dunkel the Rhinos take Game #1 with a 10-1 lead. 

Saturday: Mid Cities Jr. Stars 0 @ El Paso Rhinos 7 – Rhinos & Jr. Stars hit the ice for the second time this weekend as we begin game #2! Piekarski holds the Jr. Stars at bay for the entire first period as we head into the second scoreless on both sides. Rocco Romita starts off the Rhinos tonight followed by Joseph Gutierrez & Bryan Wood for a total of 3 points at the end of the second. After one more intermission the Rhinos take back to the ice to finish what they started in the mid-game. Donovan Bradford & Jake Sherry gives us two goals in the first half of the third for a 5-0 lead which would be maintained for the majority of the period. Kolton Plant takes initiative with a goal of his own and Regnars Jasons rounds out the match with one final goal in the final minute. Rhinos take the second game 7-0 for a 2-game sweep.
