Like Friday’s game, Cole Schneider wasted no time giving the Rhinos their first goal of the game under 5 minutes into the period. Schneider followed up with his second goal of the game at the 2:19 mark of the second period.
Logan Bellar cut the Rhinos’ lead to one when he scored the RoadRunners’ only goal at 8:49 in the second. El Paso’s Mulvihill, Maestas (2) and Easterson later contributed to the Rhinos’ four straight unanswered goals.
Rhino goaltender Jordan Belley stopped 36 of 37 shots.
With the 6-1 win, the Rhinos split the series with the RoadRunners and now have 8 points on the season, making them fourth in the South Division.
The Rhinos will play the RoadRunners in College Station again next Sunday and Monday, Dec. 13-14.
