Rhinos Sweep Jr. Stars

Friday: Mid Cities Jr. Stars 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 8 – The El Paso Rhinos & Mid Cities Jr. Stars met at the El Paso County Events Center for their first game of the series. Kaiden Hafele of the Rhinos takes the first goal of the night followed by William Wood deep in the period to tie the game at 1-1 at the end of the first. Going into the second period Riley Hunt-Bahn leads the charge with a goal with another from Kaiden Hafele not too far behind. Colton Sebastian rounds out the period with one last goal for the Jr. Stars. The Third period was all Rhinos. Cole Ingram takes the first goal of the period trailed by Hafele scoring himself a hat trick. Tristen Elmhurst, Lou Caufield, & Carson Doyle all round up the game with 3 more goals, ending the game with an 8-2 victory for the Rhinos.

Saturday: Mid Cities Jr. Stars 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 8 –  Following last night’s victory, the El Paso Rhinos seek to gain another win against the Mid Cities. Jr Stars. After a relatively uneventful first period Matthew Gross puts the Rhinos on the board with the first score of the night with less than three minutes left on the clock. The Jr. Stars looking for an advantage take two goals early in the second period as Ilnur Madiarov & dakota Sullivan each score goals of their own. Unfortunately for the Jr. Stars these would be the last two goals of the night as the rest of the period was all Rhinos once more. Payne Pent, Kaiden Hafdele, & Zachary ware all scoring throughout the period. With two more goals by Blake Polifka, the Rhinos end the second period with a 6-2 lead. Pent and Polifka wrap up the game with the last two games of the night in the third period. The game ends with another 8-2 Victory for the Rhinos.

Sunday: Mid Cities Jr. Stars 1 @ El Paso Rhinos 12 – El Paso Rhinos take a sweeping victory over the Mid Cities Jr. Stars this past Sunday with a 12-1 victory. The game starts off with Connor Thompson taking the first point of the game. Tristen Elmhurst, Jack Olson, and Daniel Ceullar continue to score, ending the period with a 4-0 lead over the Jr. Stars.  Rhinos also dominate the second period with Jaxon Penner starting us off with a goal one minute after returning to the ice. Landon Albrecht scores with a second goal from Penner not too long after. Lou Caulfield brings in another point right before Albrecht scores a second of his own. With 19:49 left in the period, Ilnur Madiarov puts the Jr. Stars on the board with their only goal of the night. Taking his third goal of the game, Jaxon penner starts off the third period by increasing the Rhinos’ lead yet again. The game is finished off by Colin Clough and Matthew Barnes with two more goals for the Rhinos.
