Nov 12, 2023

Friday: Texas Brahmas 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 3 – For the second time this season the El Paso Rhinos and Texas Brahmas square off on the ice. The first period did start off a bit slow and the Rhinos wouldn’t take a single goal until well into the period. Kyle Arias gives us the first goal of the night with a quick retort from The Brahmas to tie up the game at 1-1 by the 17 minute mark. Just as the period closes Bryan Wood takes the lead for the Rhinos with one more goal and we head into the second period with a 2-1 lead. With no scoring by either team in the second, we continue to see both teams striving for any advantage. At almost eight minutes into the third period the Brahmas tied up the game once more. Fortunately for the Rhinos Nick Jones takes one final goal to end the stalemate and giving the Rhinos a 3-2 victory for Game #1.

Saturday: Texas Brahmas 1 @ El Paso Rhinos 3 – We’ve got another game tonight with Rhinos playing host for the Brahmas for Game #2. Right off the bat Kyle Arias earns a goal at just under four minutes into the game as the Rhinos take a 1-0 early game lead. Brendan Forden in the net holds down the fort and keeps the Brahmas at bay for the remainder of the period. Just as the Rhinos did in the first period the Brahmas came to the second for an early period lead of their own to tie up the game at 1-1. Kyle Arias doesn’t let the game stay at a tie and breaks through Brahmas defense to put the Rhinos square in the lead at 2-1 at the end of the second period. Lastly, the Rhinos would take one final goal in the closing minute of the match as Austin Renaldo gives the Rhinos their third goal of the night. Rhinos take game #2 with a 3-1 win.

Sunday: Texas Brahmas 3 @ El Paso Rhinos 2 – Rhinos & Brahmas are on the ice one last time this Sunday evening for the conclusion of this 3-game series. Michael Sobaski starts us off tonight with a goal at the 11:41 mark and Rhinos hold on to a 1-0 lead to the end of the first period. Cameron Kim widened the gap by taking a second goal for the Rhinos early on in the second period. With the Brahmas now at a 2-0 defecit, Cameron Colberg puts  them on the board and end any hopes of a shutout by the Rhinos. Four minutes later we’d see Joey Crowley taking yet another goal for the Brahmas, tying the game at 2-2 at the end of the second. With competition as fierce as ever the third period blazes by as neither team ceded any more points, sending us into overtime. Unfortunately for the Rhinos, the Brahmas’ Alex Cagan snipes a goal at just 14 seconds into overtime, ending the game with a 3-2 victory for the Brahmas.
