Rhinos fall to Brahmas 8-1 in Game #3

Friday: El Paso Rhinos 2 @ Texas Brahmas 1 – Rhinos are on the road this week as we pay a visit to the Texas Brahmas! The first period was defense as Loney blocked 10 shots on goal and prevented any Brahmas goals. Moving on to the second period Rhinos are finally on the board as Bryan Wood gives us our first goal of the night. The score remained at 1-0 as we moved on to the third period where Joseph Gutierrez would go on to give the Rhinos an insurance goal with just a little over five minutes left in the period; increasing their lead to 2-0 over the Brahmas. Before the game is out the Brahmas would take one goal to cut the Rhinos’ lead in half, but El Paso would go on to win the game 2-1

Saturday: El Paso Rhinos 2 @ Texas Brahmas 1 – Back on the ice for Game #2 of the series Brahmas and Rhinos. In a repeat of last night we have a scoreless first period thanks to Goaltender Philip O’Neil who held the line against the Brahmas’ onslaught. 0-0 moving into the second where the Brahmas take a mid-game lead as Chase Forry is awarded the first goal of the night. Brahmas would hold on to this 1-0 lead as we head into the third period. The Rhinos came back to the ice determined to break through Brahmas’ defense and it would finally happen at just under nine minutes as Koltan Plant ties up the game at 1-1. With both teams now trying to steal the game it would be Tyler Lanoue who would snatch the lead for the Rhinos with one minute left on the clock. This final goal went on to be the final score of the night and Rhinos would take game #2 2-1 over the Brahmas.

Friday: El Paso Rhinos 1 @ Texas Brahmas 8 – For the final game of the series the Brahmas aim to take revenge over the Rhinos for the previous two defeats. We start off the night with 3 goals in the first period by the Brahmas who hold the Rhinos at 0 headed into the second period. After a quick intermission the Brahmas held on to their momentum to take two more goals thanks to TJ Lotz and Ryan Spreyne who increased the score gap to 5 points. With one final period to go the Rhinos are down 5-0 until Julian Martinez puts them on the board with a goal at just over halfway through the third. Unfortunately this would be the Rhinos’ last goal of the night as the Brahmas went on to score thrice more, taking game #3 with an 8-1 lead.
