Rhinos take RoadRunners 4-0 in Game 3

Oct 12, 2024

Friday: El Paso Rhinos 2 @ Texas RoadRunners 3 – Rhinos are on the road this week as we face off against the Texas RoadRunners! Nathan Graybill holds the RoadRunners at bay throughout the first period with amazing defense, but unfortunately with no scoring on either side we head in to the second period at a 0-0 tie. RoadRunners take to the board first early in the second as Lucas Dyer breaks past Graybill to break the stalemate. This wouldn’t be the end of their momentum as Skylar Bawcom makes it 2-0, but the Rhinos wouldn’t take it standing still. Jake Bamback cuts the lead in half and makes it 2-1 with Rhinos trailing behind by the end of the second. Heading into the third period Jacob Mish brings it back to a tie in just under two minutes, but the RoadRunners didn’t let this last for long, snatching the lead with one final goal from Vincenzo Cavazos. Game #1 goes to the RoadRunners with a 3-2 victory.

Saturday: El Paso Rhinos 0 @ Texas RoadRunners 5 – Rhinos & RoadRunners take to the ice for a second time this weekend as we begin Game #2. The first period is all RoadRunners as they manage three goals (Kyle Macintosh, Skylar Bawcom, Vincenzo Cavazos) for a 3-0 lead headed into the second period. Rhinos are able to mount a defense in the second to hold the RoadRunners at bay, but after intermission they’d return with aggressive plays in the third. With an early goal from Adrian Abram and another by Bawcom, RoadRunners run away with a 5-0 victory.

Sunday: El Paso Rhinos 4 @ Texas RoadRunners 0 – Rhinos & RoadRunners square off for a third time this weekend. Donovan Bradford starts off the day with a goal for the Rhinos in the opening period, giving us a 1-0 lead headed into the second. Jake Bamback makes it 2-0 with another deep in the second period while Dylan Newton shows his goaltending skills. By the end of the second period Rhinos enjoy a comfy 2-0 lead. With a second goal from Bradford and a last-second buzzer beater by Andre Valenzuela the Rhinos take Game #3 with a 4-0 win preventing a complete RoadRunners series sweep.
