Rhinos Sweep Roadrunners 4-3 in Game 3

Friday: Texas RoadRunners 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 3 – Rhinos play host to the Texas RoadRunners tonight here in beautiful El Paso, Texas. Rhinos use the home turf advantage tonight to take the first goal as Tyler Dunkel snatches 1-0 lead halfway through the first period. Rhino defense would also continue to hold as we move into the second period with a one point lead. We’ll keep the momentum going this period as Rhinos take two more goals in the first half of the second thanks to David Tolan and Nicholas Jones who shoot the Rhinos ahead of the RoadRunners 3-0. RoadRunners make a quick turnaround though and promptly kick into high gear as they score two back-to-back goals courtesy of JT Brugaletta and Adrian Sanchez to cut El Paso’s lead down to just 3-2 by the end of the second period. The third period was all defense as the Rhinos kept the goal safe and secure, awarding them a 3-2 victory over the RoadRunners.

Saturday: Texas Roadrunners 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 4 – Returning to the ice for Game #2 of the series the El Paso Rhinos and Texas Roadrunners are back at it once more! Straight into the first period the Rhinos play a very aggressive game, but it wouldn’t be until past the twelve minute mark that this playstyle would begin to play off. Rhinos start off the night with 3 goals thanks to Kyle Arias, Nicholas Jones, and Regnars Jansons. Headed into the second period the Rhinos maintained a 3-0 lead over the RoadRunners which would stand all the way until the third. With the puck dropping on the third period it wasn’t long before the Rhinos’ very own Michael Sobaski further increased the lead by one, just a minute before Noah Easterson finally puts the RoadRunners on the board. With less than two minutes remaining in the period, Shayden Davis sneaks in one final goal for the roadrunners to end the game at a 4-2 victory for the Rhinos.

Sunday: Texas RoadRunners 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 4- Once more into the fray: Rhinos & RoadRunners hit the ice for the final game of the series. We start off the night with some amazing plays by David Tolan, who scored two goals before the clock even passed the ten minute mark. RoadRunners respond in kind with Noah Easterson also coming back to score two goals of his own to tie the game at 2-2. David Tolan continues to shine, scoring a Hattrick and giving the Rhinos the lead once more. With one more period to go the Rhinos led the RoadRunners 3-2. One last push from the Tyler Dunkel awards the Rhinos a 4-2 victory, sweeping the Texas RoadRunners for this third game of the series.
