Rhinos Win Two vs Brahmas

Thursday: TX Brahmas 3 @ El Paso 4 (SO) – Rhinos forward Matthew Gross had a goal and an assist and a shootout goal to lead the Rhinos to a 4-3 shootout win over the Brahmas in the lone NA3HL game on Thursday.

After a scoreless 1st period, the Rhinos seized control in the 2nd period, taking a 3-0 lead on goals from Gross, Jaxon Penner, and Noah Easterson.

The Brahmas stormed back in the 3rd period with three goals in an 11-minute span to tie the game as Andrew Kungle, Jeremiah Snyder, and Aleksandr Gamzatov all found the back of the net.

After a scoreless OT, the Rhinos got two shootout goals from Gross and Riley Hunt-Bahn to secure the extra point.

Rhinos goalie Camden Pendleton made 47 saves in the win, while Brahmas goalie Dolan Gilbert made 26 saves in the loss.

Friday: TX Brahmas 2 @ El Paso 5: The Rhinos inched closer to the top spot in the South division as they took down the Brahmas Friday night. Kaiden Hafele and Matthew Gross both scored goals in the 1st period to provide a quick lead for El Paso. Andrew Kungle helped Texas draw within one early in the middle frame with a goal but Caden Butler and Riley Hunt-Bahn both found the back of the net to answer him. Blake Rothstein scored for the Brahmas seven minutes into the 3rd to draw within a pair of goals but Noah Easterson sealed it with an empty netter 17:59 into the 3rd period. Camden Pendleton saved 24 shots for the Rhinos while Dolan Gilbert kept out 29 of 33 shots in the loss.

Saturday: TX Brahmas 4 @ El Paso 3: Jeremiah Snyder’s score with 4:26 remaining in the 2nd period would prove to be the deciding factor in El Paso’s victory over the Brahmas. El Paso grabbed an early lead thanks to Caden Butler’s first goal of the night 4:42 into the period. Michael Imala scored a pair of goals consecutively to provide the visiting team with their first lead of the contest. Blake Polifka and Matej Palfy both buried goals to give the Brahmas a 3-2 lead heading into the 2ndl period. In the middle frame, Jeremiah Snyder and Butler each found the back of the net to provide what would be the final score of 4-3 in the Brahmas’ favor. Brandon Shantz snagged the victory keeping out 29 of 32 shots faced. Camden Pendleton made 30 saves for the Rhinos.
